About Thistle & Bean
Victoria Bean is a young seamstress from Southern California who moved to Idaho for college. After graduating with her BA in Elementary Education and American Sign Language, she married her fiancé, Sam, in the Highlands of Scotland of May 2025. Together, they decided to stay and build their lives in Boise.
At Thistle & Bean, Victoria knows the right fit can make all the difference in how you feel in your clothes. Victoria specializes in altering garments to better suit one’s lifestyle, figure, and optimal comfort.
From 2009 to 2025, she and her family were Civil War reenactors, a hobby that catalyzed her passion for historical sewing. With 16 years of sewing experience, she has shifted her focus from period gowns to modern-day wear. She brings a unique touch of craftsmanship and attention to detail to every alteration and project. Her experience in historical costume design gives her deep knowledge of hand-sewing techniques and foundation garment construction, allowing her to handle everything from simple mending to complex alterations.
